REMOTE WORKING OPPORTUNITIES YOU MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT

It’s becoming more and more common for people to start working for themselves at home or remotely for a company. This is because we are in an ever-increasing digital world and it doesn’t look as though it’s going to slow down any time soon.

Working from home has several advantages and has benefited a lot of people. It’s enabled parents to stay home with the kids more.  It’s also enabled people to explore the world and travel and also allowed people more freedom with managing their own time. This makes working a lot more enjoyable and often less stressful.

Whether you’re looking for a full-time job from home or looking to supplement an existing income there is an abundance of opportunity and roles that you can use to make money.

Here are just some of the opportunities that will enable you to work from home:

Freelance Writer

A freelance writer creates and edits the content that is specifically designed for the web, blogs, adverts and even magazines and newspapers. There are a number of different industries so it could be wise to look at specialising in one area.  You could also branch out and cover a couple of manageable areas.

Literally all you need is a good grasp and understanding of the English language, the internet and a PC or Laptop. If you have a laptop, of course, it allows you to work from anywhere remotely not just at home. Imagine all the travelling you could do.

The earning potential ranges depending on the scale of the project you’re working on. You will need to learn to market yourself and your abilities too. It could be a good idea to create a blog where you can showcase your work. This way potential clients can find you and get to know your style.

Mortgage Advisor

This is what it says on the tin. A mortgage advisor is someone who is skilled in and understands mortgages and is in touch with the current markets. They will often sit with customers and work through their finances to figure out what mortgage best suits them, how much they can afford and whether it’s a realistic goal.

The earning potential can be quite high, especially if you become a specialist and can remotely speak to customers. It’s best to have some level of training for this role such as the training provided by Beacon Financial. Mortgage advisors may sometimes work off commission so you need to be pretty skilled in sales as well as being able to source the latest and best mortgages available for your clients.

Virtual Assistant

Work at home Virtual Assistants offer support with the admin of businesses remotely from home. It may sound simple but there can be a fair bit involved with this role. You may have to organise diaries, look at finances, deal with social media accounts, data entry and sometimes act as a proofreader.

For this role, you will most likely be extremely organised yourself. Virtual assistants almost never meet their clients face to face so you need to master creating a great impression remotely, be able to type quickly, have excellent communication skills and fast, reliable internet security. You can look to earn anything up to about thirty thousand a year for this sort of remote working.

Graphic Designer

A Graphic Designer designs and creates all manners of images, typography and graphics for an array of uses. Whether a company is looking for a new logo design, newsletter, social media post, posters or banner, website design, packaging designs etc there is certainly a variety of work.

For this kind of role, you need to have some sort of experience or skill in using computer programmes such as adobe illustrator in order to be able to compete for custom. It also helps to be artistic as unique and interesting designs are normally more sought after.

You will be working to the brief of the client so you’ll also need to be able to self-start and be able to keep to tight deadlines, although you can give your expectation on the time scale when setting up your services.

Your earning potential is really based around your skill level, the clients you secure and the amount of work you complete. However around thirty thousand a year is the average income. Again with this, it may be a good idea to start a blog or website where you can showcase some of your previous design work.

These are just a few of many examples of remote working opportunities. Working at home can be fantastic but it can also have drawbacks such as no holiday or sick pay so make sure you do your research before committing.
