TOP TIPS TO SAVE TIME ON CLEANING

Whether you are selling your home, or you just need to get your space spick and span, cleaning your home can be one of those major tasks that get in the way and take up far too much of your time! Ultimately, we want a really clean home, but we would like to do it as quickly as possible, right?

Very often, it’s just about getting organised. Here are some beneficial tricks that we can all take advantage of to organise our cleaning tasks and have more time to do the things we want.

Choose Your Battles

When it comes to cleaning a house from top to bottom, if time is of the essence, are you able to put enough effort into it? It’s important to choose your battles, especially when it’s a larger task like cleaning the carpet. There are plenty of carpet cleaning companies out there that have all the equipment, which you might not be able to invest in yourself.

If you do have time, then you can put a lot more effort into it but sometimes you need to organise your priorities in order to save time on cleaning.

Clean Your Cleaning Products

If you can’t bear the idea of germs, but also, you’re wondering why your home doesn’t feel clean, do you have particularly gunky cleaning products?

Cleaning our cleaning products is something that we don’t always think about. Think about the number of germs on something like a sponge, are you just spreading the dirt and germs around?  If so you are actually giving yourself more work to do which will take up even more of your time.

Cleaning your cleaning products is something you should do every now and again.

Use Baking Soda Or Salt

We don’t always need expensive cleaning products. In fact, very often you can get the same results with lemon, vinegar, salt, and baking soda. Baking soda is great for something like cleaning the couch. It’s also abrasive enough to break up stains on any fabric, while not causing any damage.

If you put some baking soda into your washing machine, the clothes will come out looking cleaner and brighter. The great thing about baking soda is that it’s so cheap! So many cleaning products have baking soda as an active ingredient. Why don’t you save some money and buy a huge packet of baking soda?  This will save you the time and expense of using lots of different products for different tasks.

Clean Little And Often

It’s not necessarily one of those things that we would think to be a useful trick or hack, but cleaning little and often is, arguably, the best way to keep on top of a clean home without putting much effort into it.

Unfortunately, it is a habit that takes a while to get into. You can certainly find ways to clean little and often, without even realising it but if you can invest in something like a hand-held hoover, at the very least, you can clean up major crumbs and bits of fluff off the floor as you go along.

Cleaning your home is one of those mammoth tasks, which is why it’s important to get into the habit of doing it quickly. At the same time, sometimes these things require a bit of elbow grease. If you clean your cleaning products, use the right materials, and pick your battles, it will help you to work smart rather than hard.
