5 SELF-CARE IDEAS FOR BUSY PARENTS

Do you have a treat fund or a self-care fund?  You know, it’s that fund that sits in one of those money boxes that you add to from time to time and after a while, you decide that you want to use it for something just for you.

It doesn’t matter how long it takes you to save, you know that the cash is going to go towards a treat.  A reward to be enjoyed for months of saving and hard work. You don’t yet know what you’ll use it for, but you know that it’ll be good!

Today we will share 5 self-care ideas for you to spend your hard savings on.

Life can get so stressful juggling a career, kids, a home and balancing it all can feel like you’re constantly spinning plates.  With all that, it’s easy to forget about spending your pot of cash but self-care is so important and needs to be a priority.

When the time comes to crack open your pot, you need a spending plan. As a busy person, you need to take a moment to look after yourself and know that you have to do something for you.  Breaking open that pot of cash gives you a way to spoil yourself. So, let’s take a look at five self-care ideas you could spend your pot of cash on.

1. Beauty Treatments

A new beauty treatment can go a long way when you’ve worked hard for it. It’s time to relax with a massage, or treat your skin to cryotherapy treatment. Self-care does go beyond a bath bomb and a bubble bath (though, these are also good options!)

2. A New Journal

Buying yourself a gorgeous new journal could be the start of a self-care journey into diarising your feelings and thoughts. Sometimes, the addition of a beautiful journal can encourage you to keep writing, and if you have spare change, then splashing out on some good stationery is also a great idea.

3. Join a Gym

Paying out for gym membership should feel like a treat. You will be able to swim, join classes and perhaps meet new friends. This level of self-care should prove to yourself that you feel worthy of trying to take better care of your health.

4. A Mini Break

If you have enough saved, a mini break is a wonderful gift to give yourself.  It doesn’t have to be much – your budget will dictate this for you. You could book into a local hotel for a night by yourself. Take your favourite chocolate and a great new book, and relax. You can turn your phone off and spend time with yourself, which is the best self-care available.

5. A Yoga Retreat

This is the ultimate self-care idea.  If you have saved up enough you could pay for a yoga retreat abroad with your savings. Self-care needs to help you to cleanse your body and your mind, and a yoga retreat takes you away from work, away from the hustle and bustle of life and gives you the peace and quiet that you need to really get in touch with your inner emotions.

Saving up your cash is an excellent idea, but saving up for something that could change your whole outlook on life? That’s just genius. Think about yourself for a change, you do enough for everyone around you – it’s your time now.

Hopefully these self-care ideas will help motivate you to take action!
