CAN MATCHED BETTING BE SUSTAINED? THIS IS MY JOURNEY ONE YEAR ON…(Updated for 2022)

If you follow my blog then you know I LOVE Matched Betting as a way to make some extra money that is totally tax free! I get lots of questions all the time about Matched Betting and my earnings so I thought I would share my Matched Betting journey as I started just a little over a year ago.

Matched Betting is just one of my income streams along with other things such as making money on ebay and blogging. If you want to set up a blog of your own to make money, I have step by step instructions here.

If you’ve never heard of matched betting, before we go any further, it’s worth reading my blog post which explains a bit more about what it is and how you can make money.

For this post, I thought I would just update you on how it has worked for me and the income i’ve earned which will hopefully answer the question, can matched betting be sustained?

My First Year of Matched Betting

My Matched Betting journey started last year not long after I set up this blog. I read about how you can make a fantastic tax-free income from it. I use a company called Outplayed.com which means I don’t even have to work out how to do it because they just give me the step-by-step instructions on their site.

When I started Matched Betting, I won’t lie, I was scared! I thought I would get it all wrong and lose lots of money or I would just find it too complicated but thankfully I was wrong. By following the simple instructions I soon realised that it was not as daunting as it first sounds.

As I have mentioned before, I never write about anything on this site that I’ve not tried myself or researched extensively so rest assured Outplayed.com are genuine company.

In my first few days of Matched Betting I made £105 income which I was pleasantly surprised with.

Now I’m going to tell you what happened after that.

I didn’t do Matched Betting full-time and make £2000 per month which many people do. I didn’t even do it part-time and earn £500 a month. I purely did it in my spare time, around busy family life and other work to earn a few extra pounds here and there. Here is exactly how my first year of matched betting income looked.

Month 1 £352.24

Month 2 £154.53

Month 3 £438.27

Month 4 £90.66

Month 5 £0 – It was the school holidays so I took lots of time off!

Month 6 £80.24

Month 7 £278.00

Month 8 £30.29

Month 11 £0 – Had been spending lots of time making more money from blogging!

So, as you can see, I wasn’t very consistent with my effort! I just dipped in and out of it as I could and when I wanted to. Also, I didn’t get rich doing Matched Betting, but that was my choice and that’s what I love about it. You can do as much or as little each day as you choose and you reap the rewards.

All in all, I’m quite happy with Matched Betting as a side hustle around my work and life. I’ve found it’s the perfect way for topping up your income with no pressure. If you are too busy to do any for a period of time then it doesn’t matter, it’s totally up to you how much or how little you do.

That said, if you want to go for the big money, then why not? There are plenty of people who make a full-time income from purely Matched Betting, it’s totally up to you.
